DESCRIPTION:The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's GovCon Council invites you to join us for our next GovCon Series on Thursday\, August 3rd.\n\n\n\nDid you know that nearly 1/3 of government contract spending occurs in the fourth quarter of every fiscal year? Is your team prepared for the end of year sprint? Join us to hear the market intelligence you need to make the most of the last three months of the fiscal year. You'll learn who does the spending\, what they like to buy\, and how you can position yourself for success. Amanda Swanson Goff\, Director of Research & Analysis at The Pulse of GovCon will provide the industry perspective and Michael Baltzgar\, Procurement Center Representative\, Office of Government Contracting at the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide the government perspective.\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Speakers:\n\n\n\n Amanda Swanson Goff\n\n Director of Research and Analysis\, The Pulse of GovCon\n\n Ms. Amanda Goff joined The Pulse  in 2022 as the Director of Research and Analysis. Amanda received her Bachelor's in Linguistics from the University of Kansas (KU) and her Master of Public Policy from George Washington University (GWU). In May of 2024\, she will graduate from Vanderbilt   University with a Doctor of Education in Organizational Learning. She brings 6+ years of experience in project management\, data analytics\, and stakeholder engagement. Amanda is especially adept at using publicly-available federal spending data to inform policy work and identify key trends impacting the GovCon industry.\n\n\n\nMichael Baltzgar\, SKC\, USCG (ret)\n\nProcurement Center Representative\, Office of Government Contracting   Area II\, U.S. Small Business Administration\n\nAs a Procurement Center Representative (PCR)\, Mike assists small businesses in Washington\, DC\, Maryland\, and Virginia with obtaining federal contracts\, determining performance ability\, and reviewing small business concerns regarding contracting or payment issues.  A key component of his responsibilities includes oversight and review of over 20 federal procurement agencies with respect to their buying strategies\, processes\, and procedures. Mike retired from the military with 23 years of service with the U.S. Coast Guard and 3 years with the U.S. Navy.  Mike is a graduate of American Military University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree.  Mike is FAC-C Level III Certified.
