Reston Comp Plan Task Force - Initial Public Outreach Session Announced
The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce will collaborate with the office of Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn to offer an initial public outreach in presenting the interim recommendations of the Reston Comprehensive Plan Task Force. This event is scheduled for Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM via WebEx. Vaccine Updates - Fairfax County Health Department
The big news over the weekend was the Emergency Use Authorization for the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine. Like Pfizer and Moderna, the new J&J vaccine was shown to be safe and very effective in clinical trials at preventing serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19. The most common side effects were injection site pain, headache, fatigue, muscle aches, and nausea. Call to Open/Keep Open Silver Line Phase 2
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is considering a number of actions to address revenue shortfalls that impact its FY2022 budget. Actions being considered include reduction in service throughout the entire Metrorail network and the closure of 22 Metro stations, which includes the Reston Town Center Metro Station, slated to open in July 2021. Additionally, the proposal would seek the closure of additional Silver Line Phase 2 stations - Innovation Center and Loudoun Gateway. WMATA
